Network Penetration Testing

Internal and external testing of your network and infrastructure: perimeter exposure, network segmentation, lateral movement, privilege escalation, and Active Directory. We simulate a determined attacker under controlled conditions, then hand you the evidence and the fixes.

What Network Penetration Testing Is

Network penetration testing is a controlled, evidence-driven assessment of your network and infrastructure from the perspective of an attacker. An external test starts from the public internet and probes your internet-facing perimeter; an internal test assumes a foothold inside the network, the position of a compromised workstation, an insider, or a contractor, and measures how far that foothold can be extended.

The work goes beyond listing vulnerabilities. We chain weaknesses together to demonstrate real impact: how an exposed service leads to a foothold, how that foothold enables lateral movement across segments, how privileges are escalated, and how an Active Directory environment can be compromised. The output is a defensible picture of what an adversary could actually achieve, with the proof to support it.

Who Needs This

  • Organizations running on-premises or hybrid infrastructure where servers, Active Directory, and internal services carry sensitive workloads.
  • Entities with regulatory or framework-driven testing obligations, including NCA ECC and SAMA Cyber Security Framework expectations.
  • Teams validating network segmentation between corporate, production, and sensitive environments.
  • Organizations performing post-incident validation, confirming that a previously exploited path is genuinely closed.
  • Security leaders who need an independent, reproducible measure of how their network would withstand a focused attacker.

Our Methodology

Every engagement follows the Cyber Shields rhythm: Assess, Protect, Monitor. For a network penetration test, that translates into the following steps.

  1. Scope and NDA. We agree targets, IP ranges, test windows, rules of engagement, and escalation contacts in writing, under a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement, before any activity begins.
  2. External reconnaissance. We map your internet-facing footprint, enumerate exposed services and hosts, and identify the attack surface available to an outside adversary.
  3. Vulnerability identification. We combine authenticated and unauthenticated techniques with manual verification to confirm real weaknesses and filter out false positives.
  4. Exploitation and lateral movement (controlled). Confirmed weaknesses are exploited within agreed limits to establish a foothold, then we move laterally across the network to demonstrate reachable assets and trust relationships.
  5. Privilege escalation. We attempt to elevate from a standard foothold toward administrative and domain-level control, documenting each step and the misconfiguration that enabled it.
  6. Segmentation review. We test whether network boundaries hold, verifying that controls between corporate, production, and sensitive zones actually contain an attacker.
  7. Reporting. Findings are written up with reproducible evidence, severity, and a clear remediation path, in language for both technical owners and leadership.
  8. Re-test. After your team remediates, we re-test the affected findings to confirm they are genuinely closed.

What You Receive

  • Executive summary written for board and non-technical decision makers.
  • Detailed network findings with reproducible evidence and CVSS-based severity ratings.
  • An attack-path narrative showing how individual weaknesses chain into real compromise.
  • Prioritized remediation guidance with specific, actionable fixes for each finding.
  • A re-test of remediated findings to confirm closure.
  • Readout session with your team, in Arabic and English.

Engagement & Investment

Every engagement is scoped individually. Pricing depends on the size and complexity of your environment, the systems or controls in scope, and the timeline you need to work to. Rather than publish figures that rarely fit a specific situation, we prepare a written proposal with a clear fee and schedule once your scope is understood.

Tell us about your organization and the deadline you are working toward, and we will return a tailored proposal within five business days, following a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between internal and external network testing?

An external test starts from the public internet and assesses your internet-facing perimeter, the view an outside attacker has. An internal test assumes a foothold already exists inside the network, simulating a compromised workstation, an insider, or a contractor, and measures lateral movement, privilege escalation, and how far that foothold can be extended. Many organizations choose both for a complete picture.

Is penetration testing safe to run against production systems?

Yes, when it is properly scoped. We agree rules of engagement, test windows, and escalation contacts in advance, exploit only within those limits, and avoid intentionally destructive actions. For especially sensitive systems we can adjust depth, schedule testing outside peak hours, or work against a representative environment, all confirmed during scoping.

Do you need credentials to perform the test?

Not always. An external or unauthenticated internal test can proceed without credentials. Where the goal includes assessing privilege escalation, Active Directory, and segmentation realistically, providing standard user credentials enables an authenticated, assumed-breach assessment that produces more representative results. We confirm the approach with you during scoping.

Do you re-test after we fix the findings?

Yes. A re-test of remediated findings is included. Once your team has applied fixes, we revisit the affected findings to confirm they are genuinely closed and update the report accordingly.

Will the report be available in Arabic?

Yes. The report, executive summary, and readout session are available in both Arabic and English at no additional cost.
