Web Application Penetration Testing

OWASP-aligned manual and tool-assisted testing of your web applications. We probe authentication and authorization, injection, business-logic flaws, and access control the way a determined attacker would, then hand you reproducible findings and a clear path to fix them.

What Web Application Penetration Testing Is

A web application penetration test is a controlled, authorized attack against your web application by experienced testers. The goal is to find and safely demonstrate the security weaknesses an adversary could exploit, before a real attacker does. Automated scanners catch a fraction of what matters: the deeper and most damaging issues, such as broken access control and flawed business logic, require a human who understands how the application is meant to work.

Our testing is aligned with the OWASP Testing Guide and the OWASP Top 10, and combines manual analysis with tool-assisted techniques. We examine injection vectors, authentication and session management, authorization and access control, input handling, server configuration, and the business-logic paths unique to your application. Findings are validated through safe, non-destructive proof of concept so you are never left guessing whether a risk is real.

Who Needs This

  • Any organization launching a new web application or releasing a significant update.
  • Fintech, e-commerce, and other platforms that handle payments, sensitive data, or financial transactions.
  • Organizations with compliance-driven testing requirements under ECC, ISO/IEC 27001, or SAMA expectations.
  • Teams that need a pre-launch security gate before exposing an application to the public.
  • Businesses that have grown an application over time and want independent assurance of its security posture.

Our Methodology

Every engagement follows the Cyber Shields rhythm: Assess, Protect, Monitor. For a web application penetration test, that translates into the following steps.

  1. Scope, rules of engagement, and NDA. We agree the target application, testing windows, accounts, and boundaries in writing, under a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement, before any testing begins.
  2. Reconnaissance and mapping. We enumerate the application's surface: endpoints, parameters, roles, and workflows, building a complete map of what will be tested.
  3. Authenticated and unauthenticated testing. We test both as an anonymous visitor and with the credentials and roles you provide, so we cover what an outsider and a logged-in user can each reach.
  4. Business-logic and access-control testing. We probe the workflows and permission boundaries specific to your application, looking for ways to bypass intended logic, escalate privileges, or access data belonging to others.
  5. Exploitation. Confirmed weaknesses are demonstrated through safe, non-destructive proof of concept that establishes impact without harming your data or service.
  6. Reporting. We deliver a clear, prioritized report with reproduction steps, risk ratings, and CVSS scores, written for both technical and executive audiences.
  7. Remediation re-test. Once your team has applied fixes, we re-test the affected findings to confirm they are genuinely closed.

What You Receive

  • Executive summary written for board and non-technical decision makers.
  • Technical findings with step-by-step reproduction and CVSS scores.
  • Risk ratings that prioritize what to fix first.
  • Practical remediation guidance for each finding.
  • A free re-test of the issues your team fixes.
  • Readout session with your team, in Arabic and English.

Engagement & Investment

Every engagement is scoped individually. Pricing depends on the size and complexity of your environment, the systems or controls in scope, and the timeline you need to work to. Rather than publish figures that rarely fit a specific situation, we prepare a written proposal with a clear fee and schedule once your scope is understood.

Tell us about your organization and the deadline you are working toward, and we will return a tailored proposal within five business days, following a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement.

Frequently Asked Questions

What methodology do you follow?

Our web application testing is aligned with the OWASP Testing Guide, the OWASP Top 10, and OWASP ASVS, and informed by NIST SP 800-115 and the Penetration Testing Execution Standard (PTES). We combine manual analysis with tool-assisted techniques so that deeper issues, such as business-logic and access-control flaws, are not missed.

What is the difference between black box, grey box, and white box testing?

In black box testing we work with no prior knowledge and no credentials, simulating an external attacker. In grey box testing we are given limited information and user accounts, which lets us test authenticated functionality and access controls efficiently. In white box testing we receive fuller documentation and may review source code, giving the broadest coverage. We recommend the approach during scoping based on your goals and budget.

Will the testing affect our production environment?

Our testing is designed to be safe and non-destructive. We use controlled, proof-of-concept techniques rather than destructive exploits, agree testing windows in the rules of engagement, and maintain a contact line throughout so we can pause immediately if anything is observed. We avoid actions that would damage data or disrupt service.

Is a re-test included?

Yes. Once your team applies fixes, we re-test the affected findings at no additional cost to confirm they are genuinely closed. The re-test scope covers the issues identified in the original engagement.

Do you test in staging or production?

Either can work, and we agree it during scoping. A representative staging environment lets us test aggressively with no risk to live data, while production gives the most accurate picture of real exposure. Many clients choose a production-like staging environment, and we tailor the rules of engagement to whichever you select.

Will the report be available in Arabic?

Yes. The report, the executive summary, and the readout session are available in both Arabic and English at no additional cost.
